The Vega crankset uses a DUB 29.99 mm spindle; you will need a DUB-compatible bottom bracket matching your frame’s standard (BSA, BB86, PF30, etc.). This is a routine upgrade that can be done at any qualified bike service center.

RECOMMENDATIONS

The tool for Crank Bolts: 8 mm hexagon socket permissible torque: is 55 Nm

Maximum permitted weight of rider + bicycle: 130 kg   

Cranks compatibility with the chainring direct mount 8-bolts, tool holder Torx T20, maximum permissible torque: 4 Nm

The tool for the Preload Ring’s Bolt: 2,5 mm hexagon socket, torque: 2 Nm

The tool for Integrated Pullers is a cassette lockring tool, the recommended permissible torque: 20 Nm

The recommended torque for the pedal shaft is 35-40 Nm unless otherwise specified by the pedal manufacturer

Use a torque wrench for precise tightening

Please handle the removal and installation tool carefully to avoid damaging any parts of the Crankset 

When installing and removing the Сranks, please note that:

Fixing Crank Bolt has left-threaded on the non-drive side

Fixing Crank Bolt has right-threaded on the drive side

For removing the crank arm is used self-extracting hardware

We carefully designed our cranks and threaded the Crank Bolts and Integrated Pullers so that they would minimize the possibility of the Crank Arms coming loose

The ALUGEAR Vega cranksets are produced from durable materials, giving them exceptional longevity. Keep this in mind during assembly, maintenance, or operation of the component. Due to the material's resilience, most minor damages will not harm the cranksets. However, when handling the cranksets, it is crucial to be extremely careful during operation and maintenance, using only those tools that are specifically designed for installation and service tasks

Crank Spacers needed for properly installing the cranks are included with the Bottom Bracket. The Spacer set depends on the model of the Bottom Bracket

Crank Spacers are not included with ALUGEAR cranks. (Since we don't know which spacers you will need)

If you're currently using Shimano road or gravel cranks with a 24 mm spindle and a compatible bottom bracket, switching to our Vega crankset, featuring a DUB 29.99 mm spindle, will require a bottom bracket change.

This is a standard upgrade procedure and can be done at any professional bike service center. Simply install a DUB - compatible bottom bracket that matches your frame’s standard (e.g., BSA, BB86, BB30, PF30, T47, etc.), and you're ready to unlock the performance benefits of our lightweight and rigid Vega system.
